Commission a Painting

Commissioning a painting is a personal experience, and I believe the process should feel just as meaningful as the finished artwork.

I create custom commissioned paintings inspired by beloved pets, meaningful landscapes, and moments of quiet beauty. Working one-on-one with each client, I focus on capturing the character, mood, and light that make each subject special. From our first conversation through the final brushstrokes, my goal is to make the commission process simple, thoughtful, and collaborative.

If you’re considering a custom painting commission, you’re in the right place. Use the form below to share a bit about what you have in mind, and I’ll be in touch to talk through details, timing, and next steps.

Below, you’ll find answers to common questions about the commission process, including pricing, sizes, and timelines.

Guide to Commissioned Paintings

  • Commission pricing is based on size, medium, and complexity, and begins at the following ranges:

    • Small (8x10" or 9x12") – from $300

    • Medium (11x14" or 12x16") – from $425

    • Large (16x20" and up) – from $650
Once I receive your request, I’ll review your details and provide a custom quote.

Each commission is quoted individually. Once I review your request, I’ll provide a custom quote that reflects the scope and details of your painting.

  • I specialize in pets, wildlife, and natural landscapes, drawing inspiration from the beauty and quiet presence found in the natural world. I do not accept commissions for portraits of people or cityscapes. If you’re unsure whether your idea is a good fit, feel free to reach out — I’m always happy to help guide you.

  • Commissioned paintings are available in acrylic or oil. Both mediums offer richness, depth, and a beautiful painterly texture, though they differ in finish and drying time. If you’re not sure which medium is best for your piece, I’m happy to help you decide.

  • Turnaround time depends on the medium and complexity of your commission:

    • Acrylic paintings typically take 3–6 weeks

    • Oil paintings typically take 6–9 weeks, due to longer drying times

Once I review your request, I’ll provide a more specific timeline for your piece.

  • Yes. I’ll share progress photos as your painting develops, giving you an opportunity to review the overall direction before final details are added. This ensures the piece is moving in the right direction while allowing the creative process to unfold naturally.

  • A 50% deposit is required once your commission is accepted, with the remaining balance due prior to completion.

As a commissioned work is created specifically for you, approvals at the progress stage represent a commitment to the piece as it develops in my artistic style. Once final approval is given, the commission is considered complete and non-refundable.

  • Simply fill out the request form below with a brief description of your idea and upload any reference photos you’d like to share. I’ll follow up with a quote, estimated timeline, and next steps to bring your custom painting to life.

  • That’s completely okay — many clients start the process with questions rather than a fully formed idea.

If you’d like, you’re welcome to schedule a brief discovery call where we can talk through your thoughts, explore options for subject and size, and discuss what might work best for your space. These conversations are relaxed and informative, with no obligation to move forward.

You can indicate your interest in a discovery call when submitting the request form, and I’ll follow up to schedule a time.
